KILCOOLE CAMOGIE CLUB PHOTO WINS NATIONAL AWARD !!
![]() Wicklow GAA Online & Wicklow Sport photographer Michael Kelly is winner of the Cumann Camogaiochta na nGael Mick Dunne Media Award 2009 – Camogie Photo of the Year Section. The photo was nominated by Kilcoole Camogie Club. It shows Jessica Morrisey clearing a ball while being blocked down by Avondale Captain Amanda Condell. Kilcoole’s Breda Donnelly described the picture in her Nomination: “The player on the right, Jessica, is a member of our Club. This photograph is from a match in the Summer of 2009. It epitomises the spirit with which our team played although finishing on the losing side to a better team! As Jessica’s efforts make her airborne, you can see the power she used to clear this ball – the energy is visible in her face – she has executed a perfect shot – and cleared the ball under extreme pressure – Note! Spot the Ball – and her opponent’s hurl did not break!” Michael will accept his Media Award on the 27th of March at the Keadeen Hotel, Newbridge, Co.Kildare.
