After a quiet week on the playing fields, the week ahead is busy. Last Monday the Under 14s exited the Shield, losing by 2 points to Bray Emmetts 1-3 to 1-1 in Glenealy.
On Wednesday of this week, our Under 16s play Glenealy in the first round of their Shield in Newcastle at 6.30pm.
On Thursday the Adults play Faughs in the Dublin League in Tymon Park at 7. We were delighted to accept an Invitation to play in the Kilmacud Crokes Camogie 7s on Saturday Sept 11th. We will play our Group games in Naomh Olaf's Grounds in Sandyford while the later stages of the Competition will be in Glenalbyn. We are looking forward to what promises to be a great day's Camogie with Teams from all corners of Ireland playing.
Sunday 12th then is All Ireland Camogie Finals Day in Croke Park. If you haven't done so, get your name down for the Bus to Croker. We depart Kilcoole at 12.30pm from the Church and expect to return at approx 7. Cost for Juveniles is 15Euro - please bring it to Training on Tuesday.
With Tipp's victory in the All Ireland Hurling Championship, watch out for an update of our Sportsprophet League! Leonard Lennox currently holds the lead, just 10 points ahead of
Breda Donnelly with a lot of interesting activity lower down the table - can he hold out over the last few laps? Check it out at www.sportsprophet.com

Club News 31st, August 2010

Congratulations to our Under 16 squad who brought home the County 'B' Championship on Wednesday evening! After an epic battle with Avondale, our superior teamwork came out on top on a scoreline of 4-5 to 4-0. With heroines all round the pitch as well as those on the sideline, this was a well deserved victory - after an hour of intense play where we always seemed to have another player in support! Nearly half of the team contributed to the scoreboard and everybody fought all the way in what was a highly physical encounter. Tired and sore limbs told the tale - as we took home the Cup we wondered why girls of this age should be so sore after a Camogie match? The Celebrations back in Kilcoole were memorable as the team and supporters paraded up and down the Main Street ...and up again to allow everybody to share in the success!
Thanks to everybody who came to support us - special mention of Mairead and Tara who couldn't play because of injury and illness.
The successful Panel was: Sinead Kinsella, Darragh Lacey, Laura Flood, Sarah Burke, Orlaith Whelan, Aisling McCabe, Karen Douglas, Caressa O'Toole, Sinead Kelly, Erin Horan, Aoife Kelly, Sarah Gammell, Rachel Finnegan, Alana Dole, Tara Brady, Mairead Grennan, Caoimhe Dempsey, Ciara Cunningham and Aisling Reidy.

Saturday was another busy day for our younger players. The Under 12s accepted an invitation to the inaugural Arklow Rocks Tournament where they reached the Final, losing out by the narrowest of margins. Many thanks to Arklow Rocks for the Invitation and for their hospitality on the day. At the same time, the stars of the future were in action in the Bray Emmetts County Blitz. Under 10s and Under 8s travelled to play 3 matches each against opposition from around the County. Again hospitality - copious cups of tea and coffee as well of sacks of goodies - made this another memorable day - Thanks to Bray Emmetts for hosting this event.

Now that everybody is back at school, remember Training goes ahead on Tuesday evenings. The All Ireland Camogie Final will be played in Croke Park on Sunday September 12th - don't forget to put your name down for the bus.
Good Luck to all our players who head back to school this week - and especially to all who are attending the brand new Kilcoole Primary School
